This Weekend at Legends + Hairbanger's Ball Interview

Hairbanger's Ball Interview
Legends had the opportunity to ask Hairbanger's Ball member Sean Jovi, an ND grad himself, some questions about what it's like being in the band and a little bit of what we can look forward to this weekend!
-What are some of the band's favorite songs to play?
While I enjoy everything we play, my favorites are probably the Motley Crue and GnR songs. I tend to lean towards the heavier stuff because, well, I pride myself on being 1 of the 5 metal heads to ever graduate from Notre Dame! :)
-When did you begin to see playing music professionally as a career?
Professionally I began in 2007, but I have wanted to make music my career my whole life. I grew up learning guitar and piano, picked up saxophone in high school and then bass around 2000. Music has always been my passion since I was little and I have been writing music for over 15 years now.
-What are your rehearsals like?
I don't really know what practice is. Hairbangers Ball is just naturally awesome by nature.
-Do you prefer small venues or large ones? Why?
I prefer any venue where there is a great crowd who is not only into the show but participates in the show as well. I feed off the crowd's energy and it always makes me happy when what I am doing can make someone else happy. Music is meant to be shared with others, and we try to bring a fun, party atmosphere to every show we do.
-Which city is your favorite to play in?
There are so many. There really is not a city I dislike playing in. They are all unique and a part of what has made this band great over the years. We really would not be who we are or where we are without each individual fan base.
-What's the funniest thing that's ever happened to you during a performance?
Well I have fallen onstage more than once and almost off the stage a couple of times.
-What's your best Notre Dame memory?
Beating Michigan and USC of course! I also got to hear Lou Holtz speak a few times my freshman year which is something I will never forget.
Hopefully now you're all warmed up and ready for Friday's show, so come out and see Hairbanger's ball at 10:00 PM!

12/1
10:00 PM - Best of Acousticafe
Let the soothing sounds of acoustic crooning suppress your stress one more time before finals week, performed by the cream of the Acousticafe crop.
Midnight - Poker Tournament
Stack 'em high and cash 'em in. The easiest way to make a fortune since the Hoosier Lottery - without the service charges, risk of addiction, and disapproving glances - is back at Legends.
12/2
10:00 PM - Kevin Shea
Born in Korea but adopted by an Irish-American family at a young age, Kevin Shea goes to great lengths to distinguish himself from a "typical asian comic." Shea has run laps around the national late-night TV circuit, winning festivals and wowing audiences with his undeniably hilarious shtick.
Midnight - Reggaeton Night
Add a dash of Jamaican dancehall groove to a heavy hip hop beat, and the result is a bangin' party at Legends on Saturday night. Featuring the talented DJ Flow.
12/3
10:00 PM - Atlas Sound
"I have ideas that I can't make work with a five piece rock band..." This idea launches the career of Atlas Sound, playing at Legends this Saturday. With opening band analecta, you can't miss the last concert of the year.
Midnight - Hip Hop Night
The beat drops for the last time til after the ball drops. Don't be foolish enough to miss your last chance to let it hit the floor for a distressingly long while. Featuring the unstoppable DJ 3J.

Midnight - Legends Midnight Movie Series: Goodfellas
An all star cast of Robert DeNiro, Ray Liotta, and Joe Pesci, presided over by MVP director Martin Scorcese, combines to deliver 1990's compelling GoodFellas, preserved by the Library of Congress. Its frigidly realistic depiction of organized crime will have you shaking your head, slack-jawed and speechless, in response to the question, "funny like a clown?"
11/18
Midnight - House Party
Not to be confused with Dr. House, the White House, or the House of the Rising Sun, house music's characteristic earth-shaking 4-on-the-floor was designed for dancing and born right here in Chicago, IL. Keep it real this weekend at a genuine "house" party.
11/19
Midnight - 90s Night
You'll be Livin la (Time of Your) Semi-Charmed Life when Legends pumps hit after hit through the rose-colored speakers of the 1990s. Reminisce about the days of Gogurt and low gas prices as you Get Jiggy Wit It until Closing Time.

Slim Shady to shame.
11/4
Combining hyper A.D.D. with an amusingly and acute take on things, Davidoff puts on one of the most high intensity shows in standup making him an audience favorite.
