Working at Legends

Thank you for making the decision to apply for employment at Legends! Below you'll find job description for each position and the online application form for the upcoming academic year.

Club Staff

Report to the General Manager, Nightclub Manager and Student Club Managers. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitor all club activities and identify potential problems.
  • Become familiar with Legends' events and promote them regularly.
  • Check IDs, confirm student status and distribute wristbands to patrons 21 years and older.
  • Ensure that only wristbanded patrons enter the bar area
  • Keep patrons off the stage during performances.
  • Verify that all patrons consuming alcohol in the Club are wearing a wristband.
  • Actively work to prevent drink passing.
  • Approach and assist in removing guests violating ND and Legends' rules and regulations and local, state and federal laws.
  • Assist in setting up the Club for all events.
  • Work the coat check.
  • Provide information to guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Monitor club doors and maintain attendance count to guarantee that capacity regulations are followed.
  • Routinely empty and remove trash, including empty cups, from the Club and lobby.
  • Carry out the duties of the assigned posts.
  • Know all the responsibilities and emergency procedures for each post.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings with the Legends' management.
  • Follow instruction of Legends' Management.

Disc Jockeys

Report to the General Manager and the Nightclub Manager. The Legends' DJs will play music and operate lights for the Legends' nightclub and rental events by working with the Legends' General Manager and Nightclub Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Provide DJ services from 12:00AM-4:00AM Friday and Saturday.
  • Provide DJ services for any additional event occurring within Legends.
  • Obtain proficiency of all Legends' DJ equipment.
  • Attend regular meetings with General Manager and Nightclub Manager.
  • Have a current working knowledge of music and dance trends.
  • Advise the Legends' staff when new music is needed.
  • Accommodate reasonable requests from guests as often as possible.
  • Uphold the Legends' nightclub music themes.
The DJs will be scheduled to work approximately one event every other week during the academic year, possibly more. Hours will vary from week to week.

Sound Technicians

Report to the General Manager and the Nightclub Manager. Legends' Sound Technicians will run sound and lights for Legends' concerts and other campus events by working with the Legends' General Manager and Nightclub Manager and the Assistant Director of Student Activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Assist with the advance of the show/event when necessary.
  • Obtain proficiency on all sound and light systems owned and operated by Legends and the Student Activities Office.
  • Properly and efficiently reinforce sound and light requirements for all Legends' programs and Student Activities rentals.
  • Load/unload entertainer's equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment used for a show is accounted for following the show.
  • Transport equipment to Legends or other event site.
  • Attend regular meetings with General Manager and Nightclub Manager.
  • Assist the Legends' staff during events with other tasks as needed.
The Sound Technicians will be scheduled to work approximately one event each week during the academic year, possibly more. Hours vary from week to week.

Student Catering Manager

Legends Student Catering Managers assist the Catering and Events Manager in the on-site management of private catered events at Legends, as well as a few aspects of daily operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Assist the Catering and Events Manager with maintaining an up-to-date calendar of catering events.
  • Assist the Catering and Events Manager with marketing and sales initiatives to promote Legends as a premiere private events venue, to students, campus departments, and the surrounding community.
  • Maintain and organize catering supplies, including inventory of supplies on a monthly basis.
  • Meet with Catering Event Staff members before each shift to review event details; motivate the Catering Event Staff members to excellence.
  • Lead the Catering Event Staff members in the set-up, implementation, and tear-down of private events; oversee all aspects of event operations in the absence of the Catering and Events Manager. Ensure that all staff members are performing their assigned duties at the highest level.
  • Know, understand, and help uphold all Legends and University policies and procedures. Offer, maintain, and role model a level of customer service consistent with the standard of excellence expected of all Legends employees.
  • Answer questions and provide information to guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Familiarize self with emergency procedures for the venue.
  • Work with the Catering and Events Manager on staff incentive initiatives. Communicate and meet regularly with the Catering and Events Manager.
  • Follow instruction of Legends management.


Catering Event Staff

Legends Catering Event Staff members ensure the overall operational success of private catered events here at Legends. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Work as part of the Catering Event team in the set-up, implementation, and tear-down of private events; includes (but is not limited to) decorating the space, setting up tables and chairs, replenishing food/drinks, removing dishes, cleaning tables, disposing of trash, etc.
  • Abide by the direction of the Student Catering Manager as well as the Catering and Events Manager. Know, understand, and help uphold all Legends and University policies and procedures.
  • Offer, maintain, and role model a level of customer service consistent with the standard of excellence expected of all Legends employees.
  • Answer questions and provide information to guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Familiarize self with emergency procedures for the venue.
  • Attend any scheduled meetings with the Legends management.
  • Follow instruction of Legends management.


Marketing Team Positions

Graphic Designer (3)
Responsibilities: Collaborate with Promotional Director on design for weekend promotions (4 weeks/semester); place emphasis on strip ads for nightclub/bathrooms (two weeks out), table tents for dining halls (one week out), buttons for dorm front desks (one week out)
Street Team
Responsibilities: Increase awareness of events around campus; distribute promotional flyers and posters (weekly), occasionally provide hospitality needs before events (monthly)
